Charles King Takes First Place at Potomac River
From Division 11 in Maryland, Charles King from Waldorf, MD is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win, Big Bass and $612 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on the Potomac River June 28, 2009.  Charles’ 5 bass limit weighed in at 19.64 lbs which included the Big Bass, a 6.35 lb largemouth. John Till took Second place with a weight of 16.22 lbs; third place was taken by co-angler Gregory Littles with a weight of 15.30 lbs.
These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in the division’s two-day cham pion and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall at Pickwick Lake, AL.  Their points are al so being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the di vision in the Angler of the Year final round.

4. Rich Weldon – 14.99
5. Anthony Roberts – 14.56
Conditions: A nice warm da y with a few clouds in the morning then a few scattered light showers. With the air temps in the mid 80’s and water temp running aro und 74, it was a good day to be on the river.
Winning Strategy: Charles top-water game paid off by throwing a scum frog on main river grass. Bites are slow, but good quality when they come.
Next Divisional Tournament: This division’s next tournament w ill be July 19, 2009 on the Potomac out of Smallwood State Park.
