Dale Gorrell Wins Division 11 Championship!

Shawn Ezerski Takes Division 11 Angler of the Year!

Division 11, Maryland, on September 10 & 11, Dale Gorrell from Pennsylvania leaped forward in his quest for the 2011 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament held on The Potomac River. With all the rain we had the river became a debris field of anything from small soda bottles to logs, and even trees floating in the water on the west of the river. There was even a 12’ by 25’ Grass Island floating down river. By Saturday and Sunday it was all spread across the eastern shore making a clear path to run on the Virginia side, after maneuvering through it first.

With very little clouds and almost no wind it was smooth sailing up and down the river on the Virginia side. Dale made use of this by fishing grass in creek mouths with a spinner bait to get his first 5 fish each day. He would use the rest of the day to cull for larger fish.

These anglers acquired valuable points to insure their birth in American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held on Lake Murray next month.  Shawn Ezerski earn top points to become Division 11 Angler of the Year with a total of 1163 points has earned the right to represent Division 11 in the Angler of the Year final round on Lake Greenwood in October.
